I work with a children's charity, which is what I had always wanted to do. The work is incredibly rewarding but, it takes a lot of you. It isn't the kids so much as working within 'the system', education, social care etc. There's very little money to spare, and hard decisions to make about what kind of work should take priority. I feel like I've spent 15 years fighting for the rights of young people, and at the moment things seem more difficult than ever.
Lockdown meant that I could spend more time with my own children, which was, for the most part, a total gift. They are 10 and 7 years old and surprise me with their wit, intelligence and empathy.
I have always painted, embroidered, personalised my own clothes and homeware. So together with a very creative friend we have started to develop our own line of children's clothing.
